Data Management

Preview

Know where every dataset came from, and where it went.

One place for every piece of data the platform touches: versioned datasets for training and evaluation, connections to external sources, buckets and volumes, and lineage from ingestion through training to deployment.

Why Data Management

One home for the data your models depend on.

Datasets, connections, buckets and volumes live in one place, and every version records what produced it and what used it, from ingestion through training to deployment.

  • Versioned datasets

Immutable versions with schema and row diffs.

  • Connections

S3, GCS, Postgres, Snowflake, BigQuery and Hugging Face.

  • Lineage

Which pipelines, training runs and deployments use it.

How it works

Datasets, connections and storage, with lineage across the platform.

  1. Bring data in

Upload with resumable multipart uploads, import from a connection, pull a Hugging Face repo, or write a pipeline’s output.

  2. Version it

Each import is an immutable version with its schema, stats and checksum. Compare versions to see rows added or removed and schema changes.

  3. Check it

Preview rows or images in the browser and run validation suites against each version before anything trains on it.

  4. Follow it

Lineage links each version to the pipeline runs, checkpoints and deployments built from it.

In the console

Everything in one place.

Data Management lives in the LegionEdge cloud console, next to every other service in the workspace, under one account and one identity.

  • Catalog

Every dataset in the organization, with its format, latest version, owner, tags and what uses it.

    • Parquet, JSONL, CSV, images, audio and Hugging Face
    • Search across names, descriptions and column names
    • Filter by format, tag, owner and project
  • Dataset pages

A README, the schema and stats, then tabs for versions, preview, quality, lineage and access.

    • Server-side previews over the object store
    • Validation results per version
    • Access managed in IAM, linked from the page
  • Connections

External sources with their credentials kept as secrets, a browse tree and scheduled syncs.

    • Test a connection before you use it
    • Browse buckets and prefixes, or schemas and tables
    • Scheduled imports into datasets, as snapshots or appends
  • Storage and lineage

Buckets and volumes with lifecycle rules, and an organization-wide lineage graph.

    • Object storage with region residency
    • Short-lived signed links for downloads
    • Connection to dataset to run to checkpoint to deployment

Pricing

Metered by storage and egress

Data Management is metered on the storage your datasets, buckets and volumes use and on the data that leaves the platform.

Full pricing
  • Storage used against your plan’s quota is shown on the data overview.
  • Hosting your own data as versioned datasets is on the dataset rate card.
